    Not a professional but suspect the real reason there was an issue is that the top of the toilet flange is below the level of the finished tile. The wax should make contact with both the flange and the underside of the toilet porcelain. You probably need a few shims/ extenders on the toilet flange.

    The grill tents are to stop fats dripping into the burner holes and lava rock alone wont do this .. keep the protective cover’s on it works the same without blocking any burner holes !

    If you implement heat mat on top of grill. You will not have any issues with flair ups, and less grease contacting lava rocks! Personally I never cared for the rocks!

    GREAT video and easy to understand. Thanks! I DID document which wires go to which numbers but I have misplaced that paper. If I cannot find it, then do I have to buy another ceiling fan? (I sure hope not!)

    I've tried to replace a few of them and the power would never work the same no matter what. I have seen many comments about doing this and they all say to buy a new fan. All of those switches are made only for certain fans. This is fake. I've seen nothing but negative and I even did 16 different patterns and it either runs to slow or to fast but you can never turn it off again. This is fake. It never works no matter how you wire it and I use a paper slip to push in and release each wire. No need to take the old one apart. I even got the switch from homedepot and their fans and it would not work. I have moderate speed but use the wall switch to turn it off and on. This doesn't work and I am very mechanically inclined, work on engines and do plumbing and electrical. you never showed it to us working.

    Hey Bill! Thanks for this video! Definitely an easy fix like yah said. 10-15 mins and done. BUT, I reused the soldered wires that were originally in broken switch! Made life much easier especially if you can recover those stab style wires! Had trouble with 1 red wire but eventually got it in! Job done! Thanks again!

    Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

    This is exactly what I want to do and almost identical idea, except I like that grill grate idea. I was thinking about those trays you can drop in, but your way is cheaper and more flame comes through. My goal is: 1. Stop dripping into bottom starting fires inside. 2. Increase the overall max heat. 3. Bring a little charcoal taste into the mix. Do you find that you get any of those results?

    • @wmajordan
      @wmajordan Рік тому

      So there are not many flare ups. At least nothing that is out of control. The heat definitely increased and more evenly over the entire grill. With the rock, I didn’t get much of a charcoal taste at all. But if you take some smoking chips and wrap them in foil, you can get a smoky flavor to your meats. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

    One thing I would recommend after watching 2 of these videos and too mention for the idiots like me that you need to make sure you go to Lowe’s or Home Depot or the bigger store and make sure you get the same type of switch. I went to a smaller ACE in my smaller town and got the only switch they had. Got home and get ready to install it and it looks just like this one except it’s got two black wires coming out of it and no place to put the other two. Now, anyone with basic electrical knowledge probably knows exactly what to do in this situation. However, I’m an idiot who barely understands that I need to cut the power before working on this, so for all the idiots out there save yourself the trouble and make sure when you get the replacement switch with the space for 4 wires.
